After the great success of the movie "ROMA", for 55DSL Fall/Winter 2012 campaign, the brand continues the work to promote creativity presenting "Beyond Mountains, More Mountains", a film by Canada, an epic journey on the road, shot in two weeks traveling across Italy from mountains of the North to the Stromboli Island. 

"Beyond Mountains, More Mountains" is the first and the most important movie shot as a collective by Canada, a trio of film directors from Barcellona: Nicolás Méndez, Lopez Serrano e Luis Servero. Acclaimed by critics as directors of music videos, they collaborated with El Guincho, Scissor Sisters, Two Doors Cinema Club and for Justice, which they filmed their last discussed single "New Lands". Last year they won the "Best Direction" award  to the Video Music Award for their extraordinary work for the music video "Ice Cream" by Battles. About this collaboration with 55DSL Nicolás Méndez of the Canadas, said :

"The 55DSL's team was encouraging and understanding us even if we started shooting without a script. They trusted us and we really enjoyed it. We really love Italy, as far as we know it. When we started to think about the project, we realized that what we know about Italy comes from the arts, from literature and cinema. So, we wondered if that Italy that we had in mind was still in existance. To find it out, we decided to travel across Italy of nowadays and try to  compare  the "real Italy" with what we knew. The story that came out from this experience is merely about a girl which lost her boot and she tried to find it.

The new film by Canada is a postmodern love story that is followed by the journey of a young couple across Italy by car, motorcycle, bus and by foot. Stylistically, the movie mix art and simulation, fiction and improvisation, real-life and written dialogues, danger and suspense, it's just a juxtaposition of these elements, that make it passionate and true.

The plot is simple and it is about a girl that has lost, literally and figuratively, a boot. The search is not only a discovery journey, but also an exploration of the real Italy, through an overview of the most breathtaking landscapes of the "Bel Paese". 

55DSL will present the world premiere of  " Beyond Mountains, More Mountains " in occasion of the Milano Film Festival 2012 : don't miss the event in store on 13 September, it will be possible to take the tickets for the projection of the movie on September 19 ( where the film will be world premiered ) and don't forget the after party! 

 

Dopo il successo del film "ROMA", di cui già abbiamo parlato la scorsa stagione, 55DSL non si ferma e continua a dare spazio alla creatività cosicchè da realizzare per la prossima campagna autunno/inverno 2012 un cortometraggio “Beyond Mountains More Mountains” by Canada, un epico viaggio on the road, girato in due settimane, attraversando l’Italia dalle montagne del Nord fino all’isola di Stromboli. 

“Beyond Mountains More Mountains” è il primo e più importante film girato come collettivo dai Canada, un trio di registi di Barcellona, Nicolás Méndez, Lopez Serrano e Luis Servero, acclamati dalla critica, per la realizzazione di progetti per El Guincho, Scissor Sisters, Two Doors Cinema Club nonché per i Justice, di cui hanno girato il loro ultimo discusso singolo “New Lands”. L’anno scorso, il loro lavoro per il video “Ice Cream” dei Battles è stato celebrato con la consegna del premio “Best Director” ai Video Music Awards. 

Nicolás Méndez dei Canada, a proposito della collaborazione con 55DSL, dice:

“Il team 55DSL è stato incoraggiante e comprensivo nonostante avessimo iniziato le riprese senza un copione vero e proprio. Hanno creduto in noi e lo abbiamo apprezzato molto. Adoriamo l’Italia, per quello che ne conosciamo. Quando abbiamo iniziato a pensare al progetto, abbiamo realizzato che la maggior parte di ciò che ne conosciamo proviene dalle arti, dalla letteraura e dal cinema. Quindi ci siamo domandati se quell’Italia che avevamo in mente esistesse ancora. Per scoprirlo, abbiamo deciso di viaggiare attraverso l’Italia di oggi e provare a confrontare l’Italia reale con quello che noi conoscevamo. La storia che è uscita da quest’esperienza è semplicemente quella di una ragazza che perde il suo stivale e cerca di ritrovarlo.”

Il nuovo film dei CANADA è una storia d'amore post- moderna ,che segue il viaggio di una giovane coppia in giro per l'Italia in auto, moto, autobus e a piedi. Stilisticamente parlando, la pellicola mescola arte e simulazione, finzione e improvvisazione, esperienze reali e dialoghi scritti, pericolo e momenti di sospensione; si tratta solo di giustapporre questi elementi, che lo rendono intensamente appassionato e vero.

La trama è semplice e tratta di una ragazza che ha perso uno stivale, sia letteralmente che metaforicamente. La ricerca della coppia non è solo un viaggio di scoperta, ma anche un'esplorazione attraverso l’italia più vera, attraverso una panoramica dei molti paesaggi mozzafiato del “Bel Paese”.

Ci sono perciò tutte le carte in tavolo per una serata da non perdere, e vi assicuro ( in segreto ) che vedere il video nè varrà la pena, ma di più vorrei..ma non posso anticiparvi nulla. Vi aspetto all'evento in store 55DSL il 13 Settembre dove sarà possibile prendere i ticket per partecipare alla proiezione del film il 19 Settembre ( dove il video verrà premiato ) e  a cui seguirà un after party.
